Location and Affiliations The Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute is located on the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) campus in central Little Rock. The UAMS Medical Center provides inpatient care, as well as diagnostic and treatment resources. UAMS, founded in 1879, is the only medical college and academic medical center in Arkansas. As such, it provides primary and specialized medical care for the entire state. Besides the UAMS Medical Center, training also takes place at the adjacent McClellan VA Hospital and at Arkansas Children's Hospital. The Outpatient Center houses diagnostic and treatment resources, the outpatient pharmacy and many additional clinics. The Cancer Institute’s clinics and other cancer services are located in the Pat and Willard Walker Tower.
As part of the academic campus, the Cancer Institute is involved with the Colleges of Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy and Health Related Professions, as well as the UAMS Graduate School. The Cancer Institute also has cooperative agreements to participate in patient care, education and research with these Little Rock facilities:
The Cancer Institute works with private and community physicians and hospitals to provide services and coordinate treatment and care for their patients.
