Administration and Security of Web Site Standards for the Cancer Institute web site, content, organization, and future needs of the website are the responsibility of the Cancer Institute Editorial Committee. The Director of Cancer Education chairs the committee and convenes meetings as necessary. The committee consists of Cancer Institute members actively involved in each of the four areas of the cancer center's mission, namely patient care, research, education, and training. The Director of the Ottenheimer Cancer Education Center serves as the director of the web site and is responsible for the daily operation and administration of the website. The director meets regularly with staff and a working committee to oversee the production of sub-pages for the Cancer Institute web site. The Office of Academic Computing maintains the server for the Cancer Institute web site and is responsible for all issues related to security. Cancer Institute Home Page The position of the Cancer Institute as a Chancellor's Center of Excellence at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences will be clearly identified in the banner on the Cancer Institute's home page and on other pages as appropriate. The Cancer Institute home page will contain the following disclaimer statement. Links to Other UAMS Sites The Cancer Institute may provide a link from its web site to the home page of any clinic, laboratory, center, or other unit at UAMS in which the faculty member responsible for the unit is a member of the Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute. Requests for such links should be sent to the Cancer Institute Editorial Board, Attention Shirley Gray (grayshirleyw@uams.edu). If a link is provided, the relationship of the unit to the Cancer Institute should be clearly identified and the use of the Cancer Institute logo is requested. A link to the Cancer Institute website from the unit's home page should also be provided. Links to Non-UAMS Sites The Cancer Institute home page or sub-pages may contain links to non-UAMS pages that clearly relate to the mission of the cancer center, such as links to the National Institutes of Health, the American Cancer Society, or other scientific organizations. A cancer center member should make a request to the Cancer Institute Editorial Committee for authorization to link to such pages. If approved, the Cancer Institute Committee will comply with the UAMS Standards and forward the request to the UAMS Office of Development Communication.
